Real Latino Images is committed to making it as easy as possible for you to find what you're looking for. That's why you'll find our basic search tools located conveniently on the right of your screen, along with links to our Advanced Search. BASIC SEARCH You can search for images using keywords (e.g. boy), concept (e.g. happy), or image number. To search for an image, type the keyword (e.g. sun), in the search field and click SEARCH. If you know the image number, type it in the search field and click SEARCH.
Be careful of misspellings or spaces, and try to keep your keyword entry as simple as possible. If you enter too many keywords, your searches may become too narrow and return few or no results. You can focus your results by selecting a Category from the pull-down menu, and also specify only Royalty Free, only Rights Managed, or both.
Additionally you can search within result which allows you to dig deeper into the images that you are seeking. To search with more specific parameters, below the basic search tools is a link to our Advanced Search. SEARCHING WITH WILDCARD CHARACTER(*) To assist you in your search our Basic Search uses a wildcard character that can be very handy. Essentially, if you're unsure of the spelling of a name, word, cultural event, you can use the wildcard character (*) to complete the word. This allows you to search without typing in the whole word, or to search several different terms with similar spellings. For example, if you enter sun*, you will receive all images whose keywords start with sun, so you will get sunny, sunshine, etc. The wildcard character also helps you complete an image number. If you enter 257* your search will bring up every image whose image number begins with 257. ADVANCED SEARCH TIPS Our Advanced Search includes a multitude of searching variables that allow you to search efficiently, fast, and focused. Some of our filters are pretty standard, such as Color or Black & White, and Horizontal, Vertical or Square, but most of our filters take into account the cultural traditions and uniqueness of the Latino community in the U.S. For example, the CULTURAL/HOLIDAY filter includes Cinco de Mayo, Hispanic Heritage Month, Fiestas, etc. The COUNTRY OF ORIGIN filter includes Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, South America and Spain. So you can see just how unique our Advanced Search is. If you are looking for an individual from Puerto Rico, you would select Caribbean and then input Puerto Rico into the keyword search box. After that you can continue to search within result to find what you seek. For example: lets say you are looking for an woman, a mother to be specific of Puerto Rican descent, you can select Caribbean, then woman, then mother to view your selections.
By clicking the check boxes on the screen you can filter the search results based upon your preference.
If you click "No Filter" in a particular category, the characteristics in that category group will not be incorporated in the search.
For example, if you click the filters "Black and White," "Teen" and "Barbeque," your search return will ONLY display Real Latino Images that are black and white of teens at a barbeque.
Remember, if you select too many filters, your searches may become too narrow and return few or no results. SEARCH RESULTS Your image results will be displayed as thumbnails in rows of three. To see more results per page, see the RESULTS PER PAGE options at the top of the results window. You can select 12, 24, 48, or 96 images per page. To move forward or back within the search results pages, click the NEXT PAGE or PREVIOUS PAGE links located at the top and bottom of the results section. You can skip quickly to a particular page by entering the page number in the GO TO PAGE # box, and then click GO.
Each displayed image has four icons below it. Each icon has a different function.
 Magnifying Glass: View and download a comp image. Note: You must be a registered user to view and download comp images. If you have not yet registered, you will be directed to the register page.
 Lightbox: This will add the image to your active lightbox. Go to your lightbox to view images later.
 Dollar Sign: This will take you to the image pricing page. This resulting screen will differ depending on if the image is Rights Managed or Royalty Free.
 Shopping Cart: This will add the image to your shopping cart un-priced, without leaving the search results screen.
Image Thumbnail: Clicking on the image thumbnail will take you to the Image details page.
IMAGE DETAIL PAGES On the Image Detail page you can see the image in a larger format, see associated keywords, photographer info, release information, and any exclusions that may exist for the image.
You can also select to view/download a comp of the image, add the image to your cart, add the image to your lightbox and price the image.
The pricing application differs depending on if the image is Royalty Free or Rights Managed.
On the bottom of the page you can also select to “View Similar Images” from the particular photographer or photo shoot, and view the License Information. IMAGE PRICING This screen will differ depending on if the image is Royalty Free or Rights Managed.
For Royalty Free images, select a predetermined size/resolution/price and add the image to your cart. You can also add the image to your cart un-priced.
For Rights Managed images, select fields from the drop down menus to complete your pricing, or add the image to your cart un-priced.
Un-priced images in your Shopping Cart will need to be priced prior to check-out and purchase.
Be sure to “View Terms of Use" for license information for all photographs.
